Australia's spinner Adam Zampa has withdrew from the Indian Premier League for the 2024 season, claiming personal reasons, which is a major setback for the Rajasthan Royals. In their IPL 2024 opener, RR will play the Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, March 24 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Prior to the IPL 2024 mini-auction in Dubai, Zampa was signed by the Rajasthan Royals to a Rs. 1.50 crore contract. In six games during the previous season, Zampa took eight wickets at an economy rate of 8.54, including three against the eventual champion Chennai Super Kings that turned the tide of the contest.
Zampa had previously played in the Indian Premier League for the Rising Pune Supergiant and Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he took 29 wickets in 20 games.
Due to a quadriceps operation, pacer Prasidh Krishna was also lost by the Rajasthan Royals for the season recently. The team has not yet announced Zampa and Prasidh's successors.
Rovman Powell (Rs. 7.4 crore), Shubham Dubey (Rs. 5.80 crore), Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Rs. 40 lakh), Abid Mushtaq (Rs. 20 lakh), and Nandre Burger (Rs. 50 lakh) were the five new players that RR signed to their roster in the IPL 2024 mini-auction.

With clubs like the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2018 IPL, RR won't be the favorites, but they have the power to silence their doubters. Having won the first IPL championship in 2008, they will be aiming to win their second one this season.
The Indian Premier League's 2024 season will begin on Friday, March 22 at Chepauk Stadium with a match between the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Donovan Ferreira, Kunal Rathore, Ravichandran Ashwin, Sumedh Krishna, Sandeep Sharma, Avesh Khan, Rovman Powell, Shubham Dubey, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Abid Mushtaq, and Nandre Burger are the players who made up Sanju Samson (c).
